Allie's story

Updated: Dec 19, 2019

Dear Bridle Up Hope Donors,

Thank you so much for helping me out. I really needed the Bridle Up Hope program, and I believe it truly saved my life.

My story is really complicated. I have extreme PTSD, anxiety, and depression from my experiences. I was sexually abused for most of my life. Because of this I was in a really bad emotional state and was thinking strongly about taking my life. I started therapy, and then I heard about the Bridle Up Hope program. I love animals, so I was super glad to have been able to join your program. You are the reason I am here today. My life has improved so much because of this program and all the donors who sponsored me.

Being able to ride, groom, and be with the horses was really therapeutic for me. Animals are able to connect with people in a way that nothing else can. My time at Bridle Up Hope was life changing. I am so thankful for all you have done for me and others in similar situations. I am in such a better place after through this program. I am able to go out into the world without feeling sick to my stomach. My favorite habit is Habit 1: Be Proactive, which is about control. Being able to see what I am able to control and what is out of my control. I cannot dwell on things I can’t control, and I need to focus on what I can. I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done.
